Data released by the General Administration of Customs on August 7 showed that in July alone, the total value of China’s foreign trade in goods reached 3.91 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.7%. This growth rate was 1.5 percentage points higher than that in June, hitting a new high for the year. In the first 7 months, the total value of China’s foreign trade in goods stood at 25.7 trillion yuan, up 3.5% year-on-year, with the growth rate accelerating by 0.6 percentage points compared with the first half of the year.
MOFCOM Expresses Confidence in Promoting Stable Growth and Quality Improvement of Foreign Trade
On August 21, He Yongqian, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), stated that although the current global economic and trade development still faces significant uncertainties, China has the confidence and strength to continue promoting the stable growth and quality improvement of foreign trade. He Yongqian introduced that China’s foreign trade has maintained a steady and progressive momentum, with the cumulative import and export growth rate rising month by month. In the first 7 months, a 3.5% growth rate was achieved, realizing both volume expansion and quality enhancement.And also consumer electronic has got good progress.
GAC Expands Random Inspection Scope for Import and Export Commodities
The General Administration of Customs (GAC) officially implemented the new regulations on random inspection of import and export commodities on August 1, 2025, bringing “some import and export commodities not subject to statutory inspection” into the random inspection scope. On the import side, categories such as student stationery and baby products were added; on the export side, categories including children’s toys and lamps were newly included.
